How to Sprout
Beginning this process in the evening is usually the easiest!

Start by pouring your dry organic sprouts for Parrots into your sprouting jar, being mindful of how many birds you have. We suggest a few teaspoons per bird, but never filling more than a quarter of the jar in total.

Apply the mesh lid to the jar and begin by thoroughly washing the seeds, filling the jar with water, and pouring it out several times.

If you don't have a sprouting jar, wash your seeds in a sieve over the sink for a couple of minutes.

Empty all the water from the jar and apply 2-3 drops of grape seed extract to the top of the seeds and then fill the jar with water again.

Leave the submerged seeds for 8 to 12 hours, or overnight.

In the morning, empty the water through the mesh lid into the sink, and proceed to wash the organic sprouting mix by filling with water and emptying the jar several times until the water runs clear.

Drain out as much water from the jar as possible and rest it over a drip tray at an angle to prevent water from sitting in the sprouts causing them to rot.

Keep the jar in a dark environment or cover with a jar sleeve to prevent too much light entering the environment.

Over the next two to three days, thoroughly wash and rinse the sprouts every 3-4 hours.

This important process prevents the build-up of bacteria and mould which could prove fatal to your birds if ingested.

After day one you should start seeing tiny tails appear out of some of the seeds, and by day three the tails will be around 1cm in length. This indicates that the sprouting process is complete!

Give your sprouts one final wash and rinse, drain as much water as possible and store in the fridge for up to a week.

Add a few spoonful’s to your bird's fresh food every day for a huge boost in nutrients!
